These threads have multiple rough edges and “catch” under the skin “like Velcro” without any sutures. They are put in place with a fine needle that leaves no scars. The tissues thus “hooked” and put back in tension make it possible to restore the oval of the face, and to reduce ptosis in the cheeks or neck, for example. They also allow the cheekbones or eyebrows to rise, which can improve the dynamics of the gaze.
The Tension Threads
There are nylon and polypropylene threads, non-absorbable, very well tolerated. More recently, absorbable threads have appeared on the market which disintegrate in about 6 to 10 months.
