Reconstructive Surgery

Reconstruction and Tissue Restoration

Reconstructive surgery is a medical specialty focused on rebuilding and restoring tissues damaged or deformed by trauma, disease, or congenital abnormalities. It includes procedures such as breast reconstruction after a mastectomy, repair of severe injuries, and correction of deformities. The primary goal of reconstructive surgery is to restore both function and appearance, thereby improving patients’ quality of life. Each procedure is tailored to individual needs, and it is essential to work with a qualified surgeon to achieve the best results and minimize risks.
  • Erase scars caused by an accident, a bite, or a burn as effectively as possible.
  • Correct a malformation of the skin or skeleton.
  • Remove a benign or cancerous tumor while leaving minimal scarring.
  • Reconstructive surgery following cancer treatment.

Recent wounds, with or without bone involvement, following an accident: repair is usually performed urgently on damaged tissues. It is crucial to attend a follow-up consultation within a few days to guide immediate healing: dressings, ointments to apply, suture removal, massages, and resumption of professional and sports activities.

Correction of persistent scar sequelae, with or without bone deformities, one year after trauma.

Recent burns: it is crucial to attend a consultation after the initial care within a few days to guide immediate healing: dressings, ointments to apply, massages, and resumption of professional and sports activities.

Burn scar sequelae: after one year, it becomes possible to consider correcting the scar sequelae.

Significant congenital malformations: initial treatment is typically carried out in the first months of life in a hospital setting. I can then perform any complementary treatments in collaboration with the initial hospital service.

Minor congenital malformations: treatment can be planned during early childhood or later, depending on the type, severity, and location of the malformation.

Benign tumors: treatment can be scheduled over time based on your availability and the type of surgery required.

Malignant tumors: treatment should be performed within 2 to 4 weeks of discovery, with the possibility of immediate repair in some cases.

Reconstruction after treatment of a malignant tumor: it is necessary to wait 1 to 2 years before performing the reconstructive treatment.

First consultation: all questions are addressed, particularly the possibilities for corrections and their process, which may require 2 to 3 procedures.

The date of the procedure is scheduled according to the patient’s personal and professional constraints.

A quote and an informed consent form are prepared and provided to the patient.

Coverage of hospital expenses by social security and partial or full coverage of surgical and anesthesia fees by your supplementary health insurance, depending on your contract with them.
