Injection of platelet extracts
Injection of platelet extracts (PRP)
This technique improves tissue vitality and repairs them. Its unique feature is that it uses an autologous product (derived from the patient themselves).
Method
In the blood, we have three types of cells: red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. Here, only the platelets are of interest. Autologous concentrated platelet extracts (from the patient themselves) are used as the repair and revitalization product.
What are the indications?
The growth factors released by the platelets work by stimulating the multiplication of fibroblasts and the production of collagen. There are four main indications.
Skin revitalization
The growth factors will stimulate microcirculation and collagen production. The skin becomes softer, firmer. The complexion becomes rosier, more vibrant. In short, a radiant glow and a healthy appearance.
Dark circles:
It is definitely a key indication. The injected product has the color of plasma, and its consistency is very fluid. The result is consistently spectacular and natural.
Wrinkles:
Once under the skin, PRP (platelet-rich plasma) takes on a gelatinous appearance. A fibrin mesh is formed, which will be colonized by surrounding cells. Thus, it will regenerate living tissue where it is injected. Unlike hyaluronic acid gels (which trigger healing as a foreign body), the tissue will remain flexible over time.
Hair regrowth:
Here, it is the hair follicles that are dormant under the skin that will be awakened. Hair regrowth and sometimes a recoloring of white hair may be possible.
Course of the sessions.
It only takes a blood sample (like at the lab), followed by a 5-minute centrifugation. The extracts are ready to be injected. The session lasts from 30 to 45 minutes.
Maintenance
The usual protocol consists of two sessions three months apart and one annual maintenance session. For hair, the protocol is slightly different with 4 sessions every 15 days, followed by maintenance.
Results
Platelets have revitalizing properties known and used for many years in reconstructive surgery and dermatology. These are living cells that will recreate living tissue where they are injected. The skin becomes softer, more toned. The complexion becomes rosier and benefits from a radiant glow.
Disadvantages and risks
Some redness is always possible in the hours following. Since the platelet extracts come from the patient themselves, the product is 100% biocompatible: the risk of intolerance is limited! However, inform the doctor in case of a significant allergic history.
